Andres Marulanda is a Consultant at Colony LatAm Partners and is based in Bogotá, Colombia. Mr. Marulanda has over 18 years of experience in private equity and management consulting.
Prior to joining the Colony Capital business, Mr. Marulanda led the Bogotá office of HIG Capital, a global private equity firm, where he led the acquisition of a majority stake in Digital Ware, a leading software firm in Colombia.
Prior to HIG Capital, Mr. Marulanda was a Director at Advent International (from 2011 to 2015) in its Bogotá office, where he executed the transactions to acquire Biotoscana and United Medical, two pharmaceutical companies. Prior to Advent International, he was a Director of the private equity practice of Grupo Colpatria, where he actively participated in the acquisitions of Colfondos (a pension fund administrator) and Termoyopal (a thermal power generator), among others.
Prior to this, he was a Project Manager at McKinsey & Company in Bogotá. Prior to McKinsey & Company, Mr. Marulanda was at Booz Allen Hamilton in New York for four years. He led projects for telecom, insurance and consumer clients that were mainly focused on strategy, mergers and distribution channels.
Mr. Marulanda began his career at Unilever, working as a Brand Manager at Unilever Andina in Bogotá and later transferring to the finance department of Unilever Bestfoods in New Jersey.
Mr. Marulanda has been a mentor at Endeavor since 2006 and volunteers as a tutor at Colegio Fundación Nueva Granada.
Mr. Marulanda holds an MBA degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an Industrial Engineering Degree from Universidad de los Andes.
