Eduardo Cortina is Managing Director at Colony Capital, Inc. and Managing Partner of Colony Latam Partners. Mr. Cortina has over 14 years of experience in the finance industry. Mr. Cortina is responsible for sourcing, executing and monitoring the group’s investments throughout Latin America, including managing the group’s investments in Mexico. Mr. Cortina currently sits on the Board of Acritus, Docuformas and Emerging Energy in Mexico, on the Board of Saint Honoré in Panamá and on the Board of Selina.
Prior to joining the Colony Capital business, Mr. Cortina worked on The Abraaj Group’s investment team in Mexico. Mr. Cortina joined since the launch of CLAF I, led six investments in CLAF II and led fundraising efforts for Mexico, which included a CKD vehicle.
Prior to The Abraaj Group, Mr. Cortina worked for Banco Santander Mexico in portfolio management and equity investments. Prior to Santander, Mr. Cortina worked at Actinver a medium-sized Investment Bank in Mexico. Before transitioning into finance, Mr. Cortina worked for a water treatment plant construction company.
Mr. Cortina currently serves on the board of the Mexican Private Equity Association (AMEXCAP) and Secretary Advisor for Construyendo, a non-profit organization that builds housing for the lowest income layers.
Mr. Cortina holds an MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management and an Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and is a CFA charter holder.
